At least 54.2 million Americans have already voted, according to data compiled by the U.S. Elections Project website, putting the 2020 elections on track to shatter records.
Of the 54.2 million Americans who had already voted as of 12.30 a.m., October 24, 2020, when the website was last updated, 37.8 million mailed in their ballots while 16.3 million voted in person, the data show.
The data show that voters have requested a total of 86,061,154 ballots in the reporting states.
Nationally, voters have cast 39.4% of the total votes counted in the 2016 general election.
