Biden tests negative for coronavirus ahead of vaccination Monday

U.S. President-elect Joseph R. Biden Jr. on Saturday tested negative for coronavirus ahead of his vaccination on Monday.

“President -elect Biden underwent PCR testing for COVID-19 today and COVID-19 was not detected,” Biden’s team said in a statement.

Biden and Vice President Elect Kamala Harris will introduce additional key members of their administration at an event in Wilmington, Delaware, on Saturday.

Biden confirmed on Friday that he will be vaccinated against coronavirus on Monday. His vaccination will be public to instil confidence in the vaccine.
