Ambassador Brown is a career member of the Senior Foreign Service and has had an extensive diplomatic career specialized in African diplomacy and relations.
Prior to being nominated as Ambassador to Uganda, Brown had served as the U.S. Ambassador to Eritrea from 2016 to 2019. She also served as the Deputy Chief of Mission of the U.S Embassy in Tunisia from 2010 to 2013 during the Tunisian Revolution.
