President Muhammadu Buhari has defeated the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party at his polling unit, reports from Nigeria indicated on Saturday.

Mr Buhari scored 186 votes to defeat Atiku Abubakar, who got 167 votes.

Mr Buhari overwhelmingly won his polling unit in Daura, Katsina State with 523 votes while Atiku got only three votes, several online platforms reported, adding that Mr Buhari voted at polling unit, PU003 at Sarkin Yara ward A, in Daura.

With Atiku unable to win even his polling unit in his own state, his chances to become Nigerian President are beginning to look slim.
