Arkady Babchenko, the prominent Russian journalist and Kremlin critic who was reported to have been assassinated on Tuesday, has appeared at a press conference on Wednesday, according to the Associated Press.
His apparent assassination sparked an international outcry on Tuesday.
Ukrainian authorities said on Wednesday that the assassination reports were intended to “expose Russian agents,” according to BBC’s Joel Gunter.

“Special apologies to my wife. Olechka, I am sorry, but there were no options here. The operation took two months to prepare. I was told a month ago. As a result of the operation, one person has been captured, he is being held,” Babchenko was quoted by various newspapers to have said at the news conference.
