Biden administration sends 5 million COVID-19 vaccine doses to South Africa and 4 million doses to Nigeria

The Biden administration announced on Wednesday that it was sending 5 million doses of the Pfizer-BioNtech vaccine to South Africa and 4 million doses of the Moderna vaccine to Nigeria, part of President Joseph R. Biden Jr’s 25 million vaccine donation to Africa.

Senior Director for Africa at the National Security Council Dana L. Banks made the announcement at the Africa Media Hub digital press briefing on Wednesday.
