U.S. President Joseph R. Biden Jr. on Thursday blasted the administration of Xi Jinping of China, saying it was committing “blatant human rights violation.”

Speaking at his first press briefing in Washington D.C., President Biden said what is at stake is ‘democracy’ versus autocracy.

He said he was willing to compete with China if the Asian nation was willing to play by the rules.

Biden said the United States will work with allies in Asia to counter China and ensure democracy is respected.
