Biden taps Linda Thomas-Greenfield to lead presidential delegation to Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympic Games closing ceremony

President Joseph R. Biden, Jr. on Friday tapped Linda Thomas-Greenfield, United States Ambassador to the United Nations to lead the Presidential Delegation to Japan to attend events of the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympic Games and the Closing Ceremony on Sunday, August 8, 2021.

Other members of the Presidential Delegation include Mr. Raymond Greene, Chargé d’Affaires ad interim, U.S. Embassy Tokyo; Marcia Bernicat, Senior Official for Economic Growth, Energy, and the Environment and Acting Assistant Secretary of State for Oceans and International Environmental and Scientific Affairs, U.S. Department of State.

First Lady Jill Biden attended the opening ceremony last week and has returned to Washington D.C.
