Boarding Marine One for Wisconsin town hall event, Biden reacts to Mitch McConnell’s claim opposing COVID relief will unify Republicans

President Joseph R. Biden Jr. on Tuesday reacted to Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell’s claim that opposing his $1.9 trillion will unify Republicans.

“It may unify Republicans but it will hurt America badly,” Biden said before boarding Marine One on his way to Wisconsin for his first town hall encounter with the American people.

Asked why he chose Wisconsin, Biden said, “Because there’s a lot going on in Wisconsin. They’re as cold as the devil up there. They got a lot to deal with and I – and Anderson Cooper said he wanted to do a town hall up there and I’m happy to do it. So thank you all. Stay warm.”
