At least seven police officers were on Tuesday shot dead in Nigeria, police said, according to local media.
Online newspaper, Premium Times, quoted Sadiq Bello, a police spokesman in Abuja, as saying that the deadly incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon, although he was vague on the details.
The killing on Tuesday of seven Nigerian cops comes only three days after two police officers were killed in Akwa Ibom state, and less than 10 months after 10 police officers were killed in an ambush in Benue, according to Premium Times.
About a week ago, gunmen stormed communities in the central Nigerian state of Plateau and killed about two hundred people.
For months now, many people have been killed along Kaduna road.
There are so many killings in Nigeria that activists have said Africa’s most populous nation has been turned into a killing field under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari.
