Buckingham Palace releases statement on Meghan and Harry’s racism allegations after bombshell interview in USA

Buckingham Palace issued a statement Tuesday, saying the Royal family was saddened to hear of the challenges that Harry and Meghan had faced as members of the British royal family- and that they would address the issues privately.

The statement from the palace has been highly anticipated as many have wondered how long the family could stay silent about the issue, which has been in headlines everywhere.

The full statement reads: “The whole family is saddened to learn the full extent of how challenging the last fear years have been for Harry and Meghan.

The issues raised, particularly that of race, are concerning. While some recollections may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be addressed by the family privately.

Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much loved family members.”

The statement follows a bombshell interview Meghan and Harry did with Oprah Winfrey that was released Sunday. This was the couple’s first public interview since leaving the royal family in January of 2020.

During this interview, Meghan said that there were concerns and questions within the royal family about how dark her son’s skin color might turn out to be.

She also spoke of the pressure and immense criticism that she faced as a member of the royal family and how she was driven to nearly commit suicide.
