The Cameroonian army on Wednesday night carried out military operations against Boko Haram inside the Nigerian territory, a report said on Thursday without giving details of what transpired within several hours.
Local newspaper, L’Oeil du Sahel, which often breaks news about Boko Haram in Cameroon’s far north, said the military operations took place around Goshe and its environs inside the Nigerian territory.
Cameroon and Nigeria have joined forces, along with Chad, Niger and Benin to flush out Boko Haram terrorists based in the Sambisa forest in Nigeria.
But these efforts do not seem to have yielded positive results as attacks and bombings by Boko Haram and confrontations with the militaries still happen almost on daily basis.

Boko Haram has killed more than 25,000 people in Nigeria in seven years and over 1300 people in Cameroon since 2013, including at least 70 soldiers there. Hundreds of people have also been killed in Chad and Niger while about 2.5 million people have been displaced in the region.
The United Nations says about 500, 000 students were forced out of school last year alone, addition woes to a humanitarian crisis already affecting many refugees and women turned into sex slaves.
