Cameroonian secessionists on Monday released Professor Ivo Leke Tambo, a local government official in Batibo, who was kidnapped on Saturday in the Southwest region while on his way to a political meeting.
The secessionists turned kidnappers demanded 100 million fcfa ransom and then lowered it to 20 million cfa for his release.
Professor Tambo is the Northwest Social Affairs Delegate and the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Cameroon General Certificate of Education (GCE) Board.
Local newspapers said the professor was released without a ransom. But his release had not been independently verified.
