Airports Council International (ACI), the only global trade representative of the world’s airports with headquarters in Montreal, Canada, will train airport staff in Nigeria, the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) said in a statement.
Spokesman Yakubu Dati said FAAN Managing Director, Engineer Dunoma Saleh, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with ACI at the just concluded 24th ACI Africa Annual Assembly Regional Conference and Exhibition held in Hammamet, Tunisia.
“This capacity building exercise is in line with the Authority’s resolve to further equip and widen the intellectual capacity of staff with new trends in the aviation industry,” Dati said.
Established in 1991, ACI represents airports’ interests with governments and international organizations, develops standards, policies and recommended practices for airports, and provides information and training opportunities to raise standards around the world.
It aims to provide the public with a safe, secure, efficient and environmentally responsible air transport system. ACI is governed by the ACI Governing Board and works with the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO).
