CDC warns 182,000 Americans could die from coronavirus by August 22 with up to 11,000 expected to die in a single week in August. One American now dies every minute from COVID-19

As many as 182,000 Americans could die from coronavirus by August 22, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention predicted in a report made public on Friday.

At least 155,000 Americans have already died from COVID-19 and more than 4.5 million have contracted the deadly respiratory disease with neither vaccine nor cure at hand.

The CDC on Thursday reported 1,417 new deaths from the coronavirus in the United States and about 60,000 new cases. About one American now dies every minute from COVID-19.

The grim forecast projected that there will be a spike of between 5,000 and 11,000 new deaths during the week of August 15 and August 22.

President Donald Trump repeated again today in Florida where more than 257 people have died in the past 24 hours from the deadly bug that he was doing a great job.
