Deadly Train Collision in Eastern India Leaves Over 260 Dead and Hundreds Injured

Over 260 people have died, and around 900 others have been injured in a three-train collision in eastern India. The incident occurred at Bahanaga Bazar station in Odisha, involving two passenger trains and a goods train.

Rescue and cleanup operations are ongoing and are being carried out by the Army, Navy, Air Force, and National Disaster Response Force joining the effort. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has pledged support to those affected while the cause of the accident is being investigated.

Compensation will be provided to the victims and their families. The international community, including the U.S. and Canadian governments, has expressed solidarity with India during this tragic event.
