Authorities in Atlanta have apprehended a suspected gunman after a shooting incident left one person dead and four others injured. The incident took place in a building on West Peachtree Street between 12th and 13th Streets.

The Atlanta Police Department reported that four individuals were transported to Grady Hospital for treatment, while another was pronounced dead at the scene. The victims were all women, with the deceased being a 39-year-old. The other injured victims were aged 25, 39, 56, and 71.

Atlanta Police Chief Darin Schierbaum stated that the shooting occurred in a waiting area on the 11th floor of a medical facility. The suspect, 24-year-old Deion Patterson, is a former member of the U.S. Coast Guard. The public was warned not to approach him, as he was considered armed and dangerous.
