The governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai, has won re-election, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced on Monday.
Professor Muhammed Bello, the state collation officer, said the incumbent governor polled 1, 045, 427 votes to defeat Isa Ashiru of the Peoples Democratic Party who garnered 814, 168 votes.
The win margin was 231, 259 votes, after collation of results in all the 23 local governments in the state, INEC said.

There were 38 governorship candidates in Kaduna, but it was a straight battle between the APC and the PDP.
