Entrepreneur and 2024 Republican Party presidential primaries candidate, Vivek Ganapathy Ramaswamy, has expressed confidence in his campaign, stating that he is surpassing the position held by former President Donald Trump at the same point in 2015.
In an interview with Today News Africa on Friday, June 23, at the Faith and Freedom Coalition gathering in Washington, DC, Ramaswamy outlined his campaign strategies, views on various issues, and expectation of winning the Republican nomination.
Ramaswamy, who founded the biopharmaceutical company Roivant Sciences in 2014, emphasized the importance of the upcoming debate stage and the Iowa caucus, believing they would be critical in turning the race in his favor and ultimately winning the election.
He expressed his commitment to speaking the truth and sharing his true convictions, advocating for voters to choose a candidate based on their genuine convictions rather than popular opinions. Ramaswamy also highlighted his experience doing business in China and advocated for a hard line against the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), emphasizing the need for CCP reform.
Ramaswamy’s views on transgenderism were also shared, considering it a mental health condition that should be treated as such. He opposed publicly-funded gender transition procedures and argued that individuals with mental health conditions should not serve in combat roles.
Addressing criticisms and misinformation surrounding his campaign, Ramaswamy acknowledged the existence of false information and foreign-language writings about him but considered them a sign of his campaign’s success rather than a hindrance. He also discussed his stance on mask and vaccine mandates, highlighting the need to learn from past mistakes and focus on essential issues such as intellectual interference from big tech.
Regarding the 2020 election, Ramaswamy pointed out that he believes the interference came from big tech rather than other factors. He emphasized the importance of focusing on the American people and standing up for the truth without playing political games.
Ramaswamy expressed his expectation of winning the Republican nomination and stated that he would rely on former President Trump’s advice and expertise as an informal advisor, aiming to continue where Trump left off. He also committed to upholding his party’s principles and delivering on his promises to the American people.
The Faith and Freedom Coalition, the host of the conservative gathering where the interview took place, is a political advocacy organization founded by Ralph Reed, the founder of the Christian Coalition. The coalition aims to bridge the gap between the Tea Party movement and evangelical voters, advocating for conservative values such as opposition to abortion and same-sex marriage, limited government, lower taxes, free markets, and a robust national defense.
As the 2024 Republican Party primaries continue, Vivek Ganapathy Ramaswamy’s interview provides insights into his campaign’s direction and stances on various issues, positioning him as a contender for the Republican nomination.
