United States Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken was on an official visit to Nairobi, the capital of Kenya, between November 17 and November 18, 2021, to strengthen ties with the East African nation, address regional challenges, including the crises in Ethiopia, Sudan and Somalia, and reinforce President Joseph R. Biden Jr.’s mantra that “America is back” and “diplomacy is back.”
Blinken met with President Uhuru Kenyatta and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign Affairs Ambassador Raychelle Omamo to discuss the partnership between the governments of the United States and Kenya.
