Online retailer Jumia Technologies suspended its e-commerce business in Cameroon on Monday.
In a statement the company often known as “the Amazon of Africa” said its transactional portal was “not suitable to the current context” in Cameroon.
It did not provide much explanation, but Reuters news agency noted that the company “has seen its stock price decline steeply since its New York IPO in April”.
