A jealous psychopath in the state of Indiana, USA, has been sentenced to 55 years in prison for stabbing his ex-girlfriend to death 105 times, after sending her a threatening text message saying ‘If I can’t have you, nobody can’

26-year old Marshun Lloyd pleaded guilty in November to murdering 30-year-old Ashley Starr in South Bend, Indiana, last March

The mother-of-three dietician was found stabbed to death inside her home, and the presiding judge called her killing ‘an act of hate, an act of savagery’

Prosecutors said Lloyd had been sending Starr a series of threatening text messages when she took out a no-contact order against him. But that did not prevent him from killing her.

Friends and relatives said her passions included singing, shopping and spending time with her family.

Before the judge’s ruling, Starr’s mother, Christine Dotson, said her daughter’s murder has taken a toll on Starr’s three children.

“Everybody asks me how they’re doing, they’re not doing well,” Dotson said. “I know they have sleepless nights, but they’re not talking to me”.
