Missing Kenyan activist Caroline Mwatha found dead

Missing Kenyan activist, Caroline Mwatha, has been found dead, almost a week after she disappeared last Wednesday.

Her sudden disappearance led to the creation of trending hashtag #FindCarolineMwatha.

Ms Mwatha worked for the Dandora Community Justice Centre where she documented extra-judicial police killings on the Dandora estate in the east of the capital Nairobi.

“No more details about her death have been made public,” the BBC said.

Amnesty International had tweeted about its concern for Ms Mwatha on Monday and said it had still hoped to find her alive.

The BBC’s Ferdinand Omondi quoted sources as saying Ms Mwatha’s body was at the City Mortuary in Nairobi.
