Osinbajo submits report to Buhari on how Nigeria can “bounce back” from COVID-19 and fall of oil prices economic ruins

Nigeria’s Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on Thursday submitted a report to President Muhammadu Buhari on how Nigeria can “bounce back” from COVID-19 and the fall of oil prices economic ruins.

Details in the report have not been made public, but the International Monetary Fund (IMF) which recently loaned Nigeria $3.4 billion at 1.05 interest rate has said Africa’s most populous nation was battling two evils – The collapse of oil prices and the deadly coronavirus exacerbated by lockdown and shutdown of the economic activity.

President Buhari has embarked on a borrowing spree to raise enough resources for badly needed infrastructure but many Nigerians wonder whether the money would be used for the purpose going by the gargantuan level of corruption in the country.
