The U.S.-Africa Leaders’ Summit in Washington D.C. in 2022 has come and gone. United States Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken described it as a success at a news conference on December 15, and some of the 49 African heads of government invited by President Joseph R. Biden Jr. have started flying home.
Commitments and announcements were made and Ambassador Johnnie Carson has been appointed to do follow-up on the implementation. It’s still too early to know if anything will come out of the expensive summit. But below are some of the pictures of some African leaders arriving for the summit in Washington D.C..
