Poison ricin mailed to Trump from Canada intercepted

Authorities in the United States are investigating a package containing poison ricin that was mailed to President Donald Trump last week.

CNN reported reported that highly-toxic poison was intercepted by law enforcement and the Secret Service and the FBI are investigating.

Law enforcement sources told the network that two tests were done to confirm the presence of ricin in the package. It was not clear whether the package ever reached the White House as all mail for the White House House is sorted and screened at an offsite facility.

The New York Times quoted an official as saying the package appears to have been sent from Canada.
