The police in Lagos recovered at least 27 million naira from more than 40 robbers who stormed two banks in Festac Area on Tuesday morning.

The robbers struck at Diamond and Access Banks located on 4th Avenue, Festac Town, Lagos, shooting for hours and leaving residents dazed.

The Area E Commander, ACP Frank Mba, told ThisDay the robbers abandoned their loot as they fled.

“They recovered about 27million from the robbers, who were forced to drop the stolen money before they fled,” he said.

They also recovered about 240 rounds of AK47 live ammunition.

He said the money recovered has been deposited at another branch of Diamond Bank, in Festac Town.
