President Biden briefed as multiple explosions rock Kabul airport, injuring 3 U.S. troops

U.S. President Joseph R. Biden Jr. has been briefed after multiple explosions occurred outside the Abbey Gate at Kabul airport on Thursday morning, injuring at least 3 U.S. troops.

The suicide bombing outside the Abbey Gate at Kabul’s airport in Afghanistan occurred just hours after the U.S. Department of State warned Americans outside the gates of the Kabul airport to leave immediately, citing a potential terrorist threat.

In a statement, the Pentagon confirmed that at least two explosions had occurred outside Kabul airport on Thursday morning. The second explosion occurred at a hotel outside of Kabul airport.

Abbey Gate had been crowded up until last night and it remained to be determined whether anyone was injured or dead.

The Pentagon has confirmed that the explosions have occurred outside of Kabul airport.
