U.S. President Joe Biden met with Nigerian President Bola Tinubu on Sunday during the G20 Summit in New Delhi. The interaction aimed to underline the enduring commitment between the U.S. and Nigeria and to celebrate the deep-rooted friendship between the nations and their citizens.
In a statement, the White House said that President Biden expressed his appreciation for the efforts undertaken by the Tinubu Administration in the economic reforms in Nigeria.
Furthermore, he lauded President Tinubu’s influential role as the chair of the Economic Community of West African States in upholding democracy and ensuring the rule of law in Niger and across the region.
Tinubu came to power in May this year following his election victory.
Nigeria’s participation in the G20 Summit is a testament to its significant global position, reflecting its status as both Africa’s largest democracy and its largest economy.
