President-elect Joe Biden warns more Americans “may die” if Trump continues to obstruct smooth transition

U.S. President-elect Joe Biden warned on Monday that more Americans ‘may die’ if President Donald Trump and his Republican colleagues continue to obstruct a smooth transition to power.

Specifically, Biden said he was encouraged by reports from drugmakers Moderna and Pfizer that their vaccines were more than 90 percent effective in preventing COVID-19, but warned that more people “may die” if Team Trump was unable to coordinate with Team Biden on how to distribute the vaccine or vaccinate Americans.

Unlike last week when the President-elect seemed to project calm, on Monday, he was more blunt, saying Trump’s refusal to concede and coordinate with his team was “more embarrassing” for the United States.

He said he was hopeful that Trump will be “mildly enlightened” after an election defeat, and would focus on going out gracefully instead of playing golf.

Biden also called for a coronavirus relief bill to be passed and signed immediately to protect businesses and get money straight to the American people.

Biden said he met with CEOs of top American companies and he was hopeful that his economic plan would create good paying jobs.
