As COVID-19 cases and death began rising in early 2022, hospitals in Rwanda were struggling to keep up. In order to ease the logistical problems related to the growing infections, health authorities and community leaders implemented Operation Save the Neighbor, a home-based care system designed to alleviate some of the burden on hospitals.
