The Senate on Tuesday confirmed Antony Blinken as the 71st secretary of state in the United States.
The senators voted 78-22 to confirm Blinken who is expected to carry out President Biden’s foreign policy, including reversing former President Donald Trump’s “America First” doctrine that was interpreted by American allies as “America Alone.”

Blinken, 58, is replacing Mike Pompeo, and he will be the fourth in the line of presidential succession.
