Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer on Thursday called on President Donald Trump’s Cabinet to remove him from power following Wednesday chaos at the U.S. Capitol that left four people dead.
Schumer said in a statement that the violent assault on the Capitol was “an insurrection against the United States.”

He said the assault was “incited by the president.” “This President should not hold office one day longer.”
Schumer called on Vice President Mike Pence and the Cabinet to invoke the 25th Amendment and immediately remove President Trump from office.
He said “If the vice president and the Cabinet refuse to stand up, Congress should reconvene to impeach the President.”
