In a video that has left many people in shock, a Nigerian governor has highlighted reasons why governance should be a family affair. Or at least why he should not be criticized for appointing friends and family members into his administration.

Rochas Okorocha, the governor of Imo state in Southeastern Nigeria, gave examples of where people have appointed or backed family members for political positions and the sky did not fall.

He said it’s happened everywhere, including in the United States, and urged “his people” not to be “myopic”.
