A video purportedly showing COVID-19 patients at St Mary’s Hospital in London being circulated on the social media is heartbreaking. TODAY NEWS AFRICA was unable to determine where the video was recorded, but those sharing it said it was St Mary’s Hospital in London.

St Mary’s Hospital is an NHS hospital in Paddington, in the city of Westminster in London. It was founded in 1845.

Patients are seen sleeping on the floor as hospital beds seem scarce.

If it turns out to be true, the video would be a glimpse into how overwhelmed some hospitals might have become in Europe.

  1. This is NOT the United Kingdom, it is in Spain. Please remove the story or edit it to be factually correct instead of spreading fake news

  2. There is a longer version of this video being circulated TODAY, 3 April. If you look closely, you can see there is a notice hanging from the ceiling which says “SALIDA” which means “Exit” in Spanish. UK NHS does NOT need this misinformation being spread all over the Internet. Take it down

  3. Shocking indeed. As healthcare amenities become stretched, we must all take precautions as we prepare for worse days before this viral infestation peaks and passes.Gods’ Grace to us all
