Southern California neighborhood catches fire after powerful fireworks explosion

Early Tuesday afternoon, a massive explosion went off in an Ontario, California neighborhood, igniting a house on fire and prompting a large response from law enforcement and the fire department. 

Residents of the community spanning a wide area reported hearing the loud blast and feeling the ground shake beneath them.

According to a brief statement put forth by the Ontario Police Department twitter account, law enforcement and firefighters “are currently on scene in the area of Fern Avenue and Francis Street.

A large amount of fireworks at a house ignited, causing a large structure fire.”Ontario city officials said that explosions and popping noises from the fireworks continued to be heard after the initial blast.

There has yet to be any reports or statements put forth about whether or not there are any injuries that resulted from the explosion and its fiery aftermath
