More than 20 students drowned in Sudan on Wednesday when a boat carrying more than 40 people sank while crossing the Nile in northern Sudan, Reuters reported quoting State news agency SUNA.
SUNA added that Civil defence forces were searching the waters for the missing passengers but had not recovered the bodies.
A female hospital employee and a teacher were said to have also drowned.

A BBC reporter said the oldest student was about 16 years old while the rest were grade students.
Residents blamed the construction of the dam for being responsible for the tragedy.
None of the bodies except one had been found as emergency services were far away and police were ill equipped.
