Trump acknowledges Biden ‘won’ presidential election even as he spreads more false claims

U.S. President Donald Trump on Sunday acknowledged for the first time that President-elect Joe Biden ‘won’ the November 3 presidential election because ‘this was a rigged election’.

Trump continued to refuse to concede his election defeat despite having zero path to victory.

“He only won in the eyes of the FAKE NEWS MEDIA. I concede NOTHING! We have a long way to go. This was a RIGGED ELECTION!” Trump tweeted.

Trump’s tweet came the morning after tens of thousands of his supporters gathered in Washington D.C. to show support for him.

Many repeated baseless claims by President Trump that the election was rigged.

Election and homeland security officials, many appointed by President Trump or long-time Republicans, have all said the election was safe, secure and fair.
