President Donald Trump’s chief of staff Mark Meadows has tested positive for the coronavirus.
Meadows told associates he the virus that has killed more than 230, 000 Americans, but it was not clear when he contracted it.
President Trump’s campaign aide Nick Trainer has also contracted the virus, Bloomberg said, quoting people familiar with his condition.
Meadows was said to be deeply involved in Trump’s post-election effort to challenge votes in several states where he trails the former vice president Joe Biden.
More than a dozen people connected to the White House have been infected with the coronavirus, including the president himself, and First Lady Melania Trump.
