President Donald Trump’s Education Secretary Betsy Devos resigned on Thursday following an assault on U.S. Capitol on Wednesday.
The Wall Street Journal said Devos tendered her resignation on Thursday, citing the Capitol breach carried out by extremely violent pro-Trump rioters.

She said the assault on the Capitol was an “inflection point” for her.
She is now the second White House cabinet member to resign due to the Capitol attack, after Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao tendered her resignation on Thursday, also citing the same attack.
