The United States Congress on Thursday morning certified the presidential election win of Joseph R. Biden Jr. and Kamala D. Harris.

Biden and Harris will now be inaugurated on January 20, 2021, shortly before noon.

They will be replacing President Donald J. Trump and Vice President Mike R. Pence.

The certification of election results by Congress came after a day of turmoil.

Trump supporters stormed the Capitol and unleashed mayhem. At least four people were left dead.

Trump released a statement on Thursday morning, saying he was committing to a peaceful transfer of power.
