U.S. Vice President Mike Pence and Second Lady Karen Pence test negative for coronavirus

Vice President Mike Pence and Second Lady Karen Pence have both tested negative for coronavirus, just hours after President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump announced they had tested positive for the virus.

“As has been routine for months, Vice President Pence is tested for COVID-19 every day. This morning, Vice President Pence and the Second Lady tested negative for COVID-19. Vice President Pence remains in good health and wishes the Trumps well in their recovery,” Pence spokesman Devin O’Malley tweeted Friday morning.

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo announced also he had been tested for the virus and was awaiting results.

Speaking with the traveling press, Pompeo said he has not been with President Trump since September 15.
