The Government of Kenya and the United States convened the second U.S.-Kenya Cyber and Digital Dialogue in Nairobi, Kenya, on November 27, marking another milestone in their commitment to advancing cooperation in the digital realm.

The dialogue fulfilled a commitment made by both governments earlier this year during the U.S.-Kenya Bilateral Strategic Dialogue.

Leading the U.S. delegation was Ambassador at Large for Cyberspace and Digital Policy Nathaniel C. Fick, accompanied by representatives from the Departments of State, Defense, and Justice. On the Kenyan side, Mr. Thomas Sakah, Secretary Security for the Ministry for Internal Security and National Administration, headed the delegation, which included representatives from various Kenyan government entities.

During the dialogue, officials from both countries engaged in comprehensive discussions covering various aspects of cyber and digital policy. Key topics included cyber and digital capacity building, the implementation of the Framework for Responsible State Behavior in Cyberspace, collaborative efforts to combat cybercrime, and the promotion of secure and trusted information and communication technology infrastructure. The dialogue also focused on advancing digital freedom and strategies to help Kenya achieve its digital economy goals, including attracting investment and fostering job creation through innovation.

The discussions underscored the mutual commitment of the United States and Kenya to leverage their partnership for a secure and stable cyberspace.

The latest collaborative effort aims to enhance digital cooperation and promote an affirmative vision for the digital future of both nations.
