With the Nigerian Senate President Bukola Saraki in Washington DC for the World Bank and IMF Spring Meetings, chaos broke out in the Nigerian Senate in Abuja on Wednesday.
A Senator said to be loyal to President Muhammadu Buhari was arrested.
Why it matters: Nigerians go to the polls early next year and power struggle at the Senate seems to be targeting the Senate President who is said not to be loyal President Buhari, although some say the chaos on Wednesday was only started by a disgruntled Senator who was not happy to have been suspended.
Mr. Saraki is currently in Washington and the chaos might have been an attempt to remove him.
