President Emmanuel Macron of France announced on Monday that a Malian immigrant dubbed “spiderman of Paris” who climbed four stories in just seconds to reach a child dangling from the balcony in Paris would have his paperwork regularized as soon as possible.
“With Mr. Gassama who on Saturday saved the life of a child by climbing 4 stories with his bare hands. I told him that in recognition of this heroic act, his paperwork was going to be regularized as soon as possible, and that the fire brigade of Paris was ready to welcome him,” President Macron tweeted in French.

The incredible footage shows a fearless twenty two-year-old Mamoudou Gassama scaling a Paris building to save a 4-year-old boy dangling from a balcony.
The video in the capital’s 18th Arrondissement, shows him climbing four stories in just seconds to reach the child who was in immediate danger.
He then shimmies across the ledge and hoists the child to safety in
Onlookers below were shocked as Mr. Gassama shimmied across the edge and hoisted the child to safety.
French newspaper, Le Parisien, reported that another man on the adjoining balcony also tried to lift the boy to safety but could not get a decent grip.
“There is a fence and a gap between them,” one witness told the website. “The neighbor couldn’t reach the child himself.”
According to New York Post, firefighters tended to both the hero and the boy, both of whom were thought to be in shock.
Authorities are understood to have opened an investigation into the incident, with local reports arguing the boy would not have been in danger if his parents had been at home.
