The White police officer who killed Tamir Rice in 2014 will not be prosecuted, Department of Justice said on Tuesday.

The Justice Department said it has decided to close the high-profile civil rights investigation without bringing any charges.

Rice, 12, was carrying a pellet gun when he was shot by a white Cleveland Police officer in 2014.

Multiple reports said the DOJ will today announce that investigators found insufficient evidence to support federal criminal charges against the Cleveland Police officers involved in the incidents.
