I don’t want Nigeria to diminish in size for any reason but I sincerely believe that the Ibos should be brought to a roundtable discussion now!
What is Biafra? Who are Biafrans and who are not? What happens to their stakes in Nigeria if they choose to go? If they choose to stay what do they want that they are not getting now?
Majority of Ibos are not asking for Biafra right now. But as hate words continue to flow from some of us from other tribes, they may be forced to take sides. Kanu Nwachukwu who is nothing but a fraud is finally getting the attention he’s been craving for, and who knows if this was not his plan from the onset; get arrested and this will get misled Ibos fighting.
Yorubas were agitating to be free sometime ago. I remember saying to all that cared to listen that this wasn’t the solution to our problems. After 8 years of Obasanjo, the agitation went down seriously. Now with Osinbajo as the vice President, Yorubas have forgotten about secession. I think this may be a pointer to the root of this agitation for Biafra at this time. No chance in sight that the Ibo man will soon be the head! All their political calculations failed! Even PDP will dare not bring an Ibo man for the next election, where then is their hope?
A roundtable discussion will help at this stage. What they want from Nigeria politically, they don’t have the confidence to ask for. But Nigeria should be mature enough to discuss with them now.
